Podcasts
Overview
Podcasts are short videos that can be downloaded from your website and stored on an iPod for viewing at a later time. These are growing in popularity with internet users because they provide exciting and dynamic content that can be watched at a time which is convenient for your customer. Whilst commonly known as podcasts, video can by formatted for use by devices other than an iPod allowing more people to save and watch your video.
Whilst podcasts are always formatted and played as a video, these can be constructed from one or more movies and include still images and text. Each segment is joined with the previous clip and the entire collection saved as a continuous video.
Typical Uses
Podcasts are commonly used to communicate information that changes regularly such as news or as presentations to put forward a message to the user. Many companies now use podcasts for marketing purposes or provide free information, such as investment tips, to their users with the intention of turning them into customers. One potential use for retailers would be to produce regular podcasts of product offers and sales. Users could download the podcast or receive it via email and watch the video at a time to suit them. Other possible uses could be the use of podcasts to provide advice in response to a problem or used for teaching as part of a syllabus. In short there are literally thousands of possible uses for podcasts and they now represent an integral part of the internet.
What We Do
At Design Atom we can edit your video and/or still images and optimise this for use as a podcast. We can join and cut video clips of the same or different formats, interlace the video with still images, and add splash screens as an intro and exit for your video. We can also add text, such as your website address or copyright, over the movie either for the entire duration or for short sections. As well as saving your video in a format suitable for podcasts we can also produce and optimise videos suitable for Zen, PSP, Smartphone, 3g mobile phone or PCs.
We can integrate your podcast into your website and provide a download button or link for each format provided. Alternatively we can develop and supply an email template and attach your podcast so that you can send your customers a marketing email with dynamic content and if you don‘t already have a video we can arrange and manage a professional filming near you or at your premises (UK only).
